CHARLOTTE — Two teens were shot, one of them killed after a shooting in South Charlotte on Tuesday around 6:15 p.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the 2900 block of Baltimore Ave in the Southside Homes community off Remount Road.
Authorities say a 14-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old boy were taken to the hospital with gun shot wounds. About an hour later, CMPD said the 14-year-old died due to injuries sustained in the shooting.
Both juveniles are Charlotte-Mecklenburg School students.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say one of the juveniles is expected to be OK. Investigators found several shell casings on the scene. They say very few people have come forward with information about the case.
“Is it the video games? Is it rap music? It could be a combination of all of that, but I say it’s a lack of responsibility on the parents part, and our community leaders,” says Lucille Puckett, community activist.
