CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On May 17th, Charlotte will hold its long awaited city council primaries alongside the primaries for District Attorney, Sheriff, County Commissioners, judges and more. From there, there is only a few months before we have a new set of elected officials in office. This election must be a wakeup call, that each election, no matter how small, will have an impact on the people of Charlotte.

Happening today, you can learn more about candidates running for several positions.

The Sunrise Movement Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP and U2U will host candidate forums for Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney, City Council, Mayor and County Commissioners.

They’ll run on April 7th, 8th and 9th from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and April 10th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m at Little Rock African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 401 N McDowell St, Charlotte, NC 28204 and via Zoom.
