A few isolated showers carry into the first half of the weekend before clearing.

Scattered showers and storms washed though the Carolinas yesterday afternoon and, while it won’t be quite as messy from here, some leftover moisture may carry into the weekend. Expect isolated showers to continue into Saturday before clearing arrives by Sunday morning. Most locations won’t see much, if anything, in terms of rain, but the clouds will stick around through the first half of the weekend. Highs will hover in the 50s and 60s for much of our Saturday.

Abundant sunshine howls back into the forecast just in time for our Halloween Sunday. Temperatures will rise to near-normal values in the lower 70s and upper 60s in the Piedmont, while the High Country finds itself near 60°. Mostly sunny skies carry into November before a series of cold fronts bring more rain chances (and even some mountain snow) by the end of next week.

Tonight: Variable clouds. A few showers west. Low: 49°. Wind: SW 5-10.
