CHARLOTTE, N.C. — No tricks, just treats this Halloween. Check out events in the Charlotte area celebrating the spooktacular holiday with candy, costume contests, games, and even more activites for the whole family to enjoy.
Thursday, October 21st
Hal-LOWE-en Trick-or-Treat Tryouts
- Head to any Lowe’s store location nationwide for Hal-LOWE-en Trick-or-Treat Tryouts.
- Families are invited to come dressed in costume to get free candy and pose for pictures in front of a scary-cute spiderweb backdrop from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m in the Garden Center.

Friday, October 22nd
Halloween Spooktacular in Indian Trial
- Head to Chestnut Square Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for this free Halloween event.
- There will be a Trunk-or-Treat line, activities, contests, local vendors, DJs, and more.

Saturday, October 23rd
Allergy-friendly Trunk-or-Treat event at Sara May’s Gourmet Chocolate
5519 Indian Trail Fairview Road
- Sara May’s is a chocolate shop that specializes in creating chocolates safe for people with food sensitivities and allergies. Its products are gluten-free and vegan, and are also free of top-8 allergens.
- From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., children who have food allergies and sensitivities can head out to Sara May’s allergy-friendly trunk-or-treat event to have a safer Halloween experience.
- Participants are asked to decorate their cars and hand out treats to kids.
- It’s important to note all treats may not include gluten, dairy, soy, egg, peanut, tree nut, fin fish, or shell fish.
- Fun gifts like erasers or stickers to hand out, in place of candy, are highly encouraged.
Belmont BooFest
- The City of Belmont will hold BooFest from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stowe Park.
- The hauntingly fun evening will be filled with music, activity vendors, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, costume contests, games, carnival rides, a spooky photo booth, plenty of candy for trick-or-treaters, and more.
Ole Dallas Brewery Fall Fest Parking Lot Party
- Come out to the brewery on Durkee Lane for a party in the parking lot held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- There will be a Trunk-or-Treat event, hay rides, a seasonal beer release, and more.
South End Fall Festival
- Charlotte’s South End neighborhood is holding a fall festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., thanks to Pritchard church at South End.
- Come out to enjoy bounces house, trunk-or-treat, costumes, live music, and games.
Monster Mash at Rea Farms
- Kick off Halloween week with free trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, face painting, and more at Monster Mash 2021 at Rea Farms.
- Come out from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an afternoon filled with spooktacular events.
- Stay late for a showing of Disney Descendants 3 on the video wall.
- Masks are requires if social distancing is not possible.
6th Annual Trunk-or-Treat Double Feature Event at Hound’s Drive-In
- Before showtime, Hound’s Drive-In in Kings Mountain will host a Truck-or-Treat event at 6 p.m.
- Tickets are $20 per carload (movie times begin at 7:30 p.m.).
- Movies will include Dune, Rons Gone Wrong, Halloween Kills… with more options to be announced at a later date.
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat @ Evolution in Huntersville
- Evolution Aquatic & Activity Center, along with Glenn Carder Martial Arts, is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event.
- Set-up for vehicles participating in decorating your trunk will begin at 6:15 p.m., and to get in all you need to do is bring a can food item!
- The event from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will have contests for Best Decorated Trunks (55 available slots), Ghoulish Games, Monster Music, Food & Drinks, Best Costume Contest, and so much more.
Friday, October 29th
Harrisburg’s Annual Trick or Treat in the Park Event
- Head to the park on Sims Parkway from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy all this event has to offer.
- The event includes games, candy, food, inflatables, costume contests, and more. Kids will trick or treat with local merchants.
- There will be a small fee of $3 for games, inflatables and a costume contest. The $3 is “all you can play,” not per game.
- Bring a bag or bucket to collect candy.
Halloween Drive-Thru Trick or Treat in Mooresville (bring canned food donation)
- Held by Coddle Creek Venue, this drive-thru trick-or-treating event on Williford Road is open to all.
- Attendees are asked to bring can food items for the local food bank upon entry.
Saturday, October 30th
Trick or Treating at Birkdale Village
- Join Birkdale Village in Huntersville for a SPOOK-tacular Halloween celebration for the little goblins.
- Attendees are asked to come in costume from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for this free trick or treating event.
- Check in at the Grove for special goodies and a map of participating restaurants and retailers.
Carolina Renaissance Festival Halloween Daze and Spooky Knights
- From 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., the Carolina Renaissance Festival will hold a special Halloween event.
- On this day, children will have free admission to the festival plus trick or treating.

Blackberry Ridge Farm hosts All Hemper’s Eve
- Come out for a night of spooks and sweets on this Hemper’s Even at Blackberry Ridge Farm on Beatties Ford Road.
- From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. attendees can enjoy local vendors, food trucks, movies, trunk or treat, a costume contest, yard games, and a bonfire.
- This event is not free, but tickets to attend are only $5 per person with 20 percent of all proceeds benefiting Angels & Sparrows.
- The farm has partnered with Ass Clown Brewing in Cornelius and Royal Bliss Brewing in Denver for this event.

Sunday, October 31st
Halloween at Bass Pro Shops
- From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. head to your local Bass Pro Shop for in-store Halloween festivities including trick or treating, costume parades, games, and crafts.

- The event continues from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Halloween Candy Crawl at Cabarrus Brewing
- The brewery in Concord is holding a Halloween Candy Crawl from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Put on your costume and bring candy to give out, as kids take full advantage of this trick or treating event.
- Food trucks Plant 6 Provisions, Chili Man Hot Dogs, and Screamery Creamery will be on-site selling delicious treats.
