Patchy fog is expected to develop overnight with visibility as low as 1/4 mile. Overnight low temperatures will also be below freezing, therefore, freezing fog could develop.

Freezing fog occurs when temperatures are below freezing. The supercooled water droplets in fog can freeze on contact with surfaces. This could allow black ice to form on sidewalks, bridges and overpasses.

As a few locations saw on Monday morning, bridges and overpasses freeze first due to cold air reaching both above and below the bridges. Be careful Tuesday morning and allow a few extra minutes on the roads to be safe.
