GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gastonia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 30-year-old shooting suspect.

Police responded to West Harrison Avenue on Feb. 8 around 6:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old man in front of the residence suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Through an investigation, detectives determined that Shaun Burris Jr., nicknamed “Bookie”, was the suspect in the case. Detectives were informed that Burris and the victim are familiar with each other.

Warrants have been obtained for Burris charging him for the shooting, according to police. He was last known to stay at an address on Lowell Bethesda Road in Gastonia.

Anyone with information about Burris, Jr.’s whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.
