SALISBURY, N.C. — The 60th Annual Rowan County Fair begins Friday after a one year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers say stricter COVID-19 protocols have been put into place ahead of the fair’s opening including all food vendors and rides will have sanitizing stations nearby, most events will take place outdoors, and masks and social distancing will be strongly encouraged…with fair organizers asking attendees to keep “one cow length” away from others.
The fair, held at Rowan County Fairgrounds on Julian Road, will run from September 24th through October 2nd from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for admission are $6 per person, $3 per senior, and free for children under 3 feet tall.
Wristbands will be available everyday for $25 per person.
Fair officials say they will also have a “car load night” on Monday, September 27th, where up to seven people in car can pay $40 in total for entry into the fair and wristbands for all.
The shows Stardust Circus and Thrill Show and Magic by Glen Yost will be presented nightly, according to fair organizers.
Also at the fair there will be a farm animal display (instead of the usual petting zoo), lots of rides, and great food!
