Eyes are on wintry weather round two

Overnight low temperatures bottom out in the upper 20s under partly cloudy skies. Black ice will be a concern once again where there is any left over moisture on the roads. Clouds increase Wednesday as a cold front approaches the area. Scattered showers will increase late Wednesday through Thursday as the cold front pushes through the WCCB Charlotte area. This front will stall to our south and waves of low pressure will ride along that front. This will push the moisture back to the area where cold air is already in place – this allowing for wintry precipitation to push back into the area. This system does not look as strong as Sundays as no models are indicating significant totals. As of Tuesday afternoon the freezing rain threat looks to be to our east across the Pee Dee of South Carolinas and eastern North Carolina. This can change of course so we will continue to watch trends.
