Ice accumulation will be the primary threat across the Piedmont with snow expected in the mountains

IMPACT:
Ice will be our primary threat – especially around Uptown + south and east of Charlotte. With ice accumulation and winds gusting up to 30 mph this could lead to scattered/numerous power outages and downed trees. Travel will be bad. Stay off the roads! Refreezing will occur Monday morning.

Piedmont: Snow –> Sleet –> Freezing rain –> Rain? –> Snow

Refreezing will occur Monday morning. Please be careful and stay off the roads if you can. Melting will take place through Monday afternoon especially on trees and powerlines with sunny skies in place and highs near 40 degrees. Any moisture left on the roads will once again refreeze Monday night into Tuesday morning with temperatures in the teens.
